As the daughter of a first responder who served on the New Orleans Fire Department for over 45 years, I am so excited to share the details of this event with families in the Houma-Thibodaux area. Hero Fest 2025 is back and ready to give families a weekend packed with fun this September. The 3rd annual Hero Fest will take place at the Barry P. Bonvillain Civic Center in Terrebonne Parish.
This annual event gives attendees the opportunity to show their support and gratitude for first responders while supporting families in our local community at the same time. The festival kicks off on Friday, September 19, 2025 and runs through Sunday, September 21, 2025. Festival gates open at 5:00 pm on Friday evening with live music starting at 5:30 pm.
The festival offers a full line-up of live musical performances featuring both local and regional artists, with Craig Morgan listed as headlining entertainer on Saturday evening. There will be plenty of activities to enjoy as well like a 5K on Saturday morning, live auctions, food and craft vendors, carnival rides, games for the kids and much more. The festival offers free admission making it an affordable option for all families to participate in the full weekend of events.
It’s free. It’s fun. It’s what your family needs every week. 😁

The Hero Fest 5K kicks off Saturday morning at 8:30 am. Registration for the 5K is still being accepted until September 19, 2025 at 11:59 pm at $20.00 per entry. Early registration for the goodie bags and t-shirts have ended, but you can still join in the fun and walk or race for a good cause.
One of the other highlights of the festival is the Valor & Victory competitions that take place on Saturday where local law enforcement officers and firefighters compete against each other. It's all in friendly sport, but the crowd is definitely there to cheer on their favorite blue or red teams. The Valor & Victory events begin at 10:00 am on Saturday morning with the live music starting at 10:30 am. See the list of musical performances and times throughout the weekend below.
According to the Barry P. Bonvillain Civic Center press release, Hero Fest was inspired by Sheriff Tim Signet as a way to create a large impact and fundraising opportunity for local area first responders, including law enforcement, fire fighters, and EMS workers. This annual event and organization also coordinates with other area non-profits to raise funds for the families and individuals they support throughout the Terrebonne parish and surrounding areas.
We all know this time of year is one of the most active in southeastern Louisiana with festivals and fairs every weekend. However, if you are searching for a free, family-friendly event that will also support your local community, Hero Fest is your best bet.
Hero Fest is a non-profit organization managed by First Responders of Terrebonne. The funds raised from this annual festival go toward funding scholarships for children of first responders and offering support to their families who may face challenges in the wake of unexpected circumstances.
